Carlos Cruz 'more of a practical designer'
Digital fabrication specialist Carlos Cruz has worked for companies from medical device maker BD to Stratasys. He now mentors students at SVA's new Visible Futures Lab. 'Being a good designer means being well-round, balancing creativity and execution,' Cruz says.
'The barrier to entry has been removed'
Industrial designer Aaron Trocola combines 3D scanning and printing to create products that fit the human body. He also teaches classes on the technology. 'There is a lot of hype out there and I try to deflate that.'
